The Annapurna International School of Film and Media (AISFM), is offering a full time MBA programme on Media after signing an MoU with the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH).
Admission is open for the program starting in July, 2016.
AISFM claims that it is for the first time in India that students would have access to an international-standard program teaching management for film, TV, animation and media. It combines a concrete, top-quality MBA enhanced with focused entertainment/media classes and student-driven, customized real-world experiences.
It says with the Indian Film, Media and Entertainment industry becoming increasingly ‘corporatised’, management experts are in great demand.

The industry is also developing an increasingly international profile. Several Indian media companies now have offices and business interests abroad. A growing number of international co-productions–media companies in different countries are working together to create and distribute content.
In effect, companies are looking for intelligent, professionally trained managers who have a core understanding of the film, media and entertainment industry. Essentially, MBAs in film and media management.
Thus, for MBA (Media) curriculum and faculty from top business schools as well as AISFM’s own Graduate School of Film + Media, have pitched in to create a programme that combines hands-on film and TV production with management, finance and marketing training.
Additionally, through the Institute’s Film Fund, students have the opportunity to work on real commercial projects as part of their course.
The MBAs would be able to get jobs within the industry and in areas like marketing, consulting, finance, law, international business, brand management or business development.
Graduates in any stream with minimum 50% marks would be eligible for admission. The application process also includes the admission officials reviewing the candidates academic record, application essay and results of personal interview rounds.
The four-semester course includes various streams like Finance, Media Leadership, Strategy and Production with practicals in Media Leadership, Marketing and Production in the first semester. The 4th semester concludes with a summer internship project as well as the final project work.
