Wharton business school’s Class of 2016 saw a median compensation of $125,000 in Annual Base Salary for 564 students (92.5%) in the range of $27,600-250,000 at the Final Placements 2016.
Sign-on Bonus was reported by 420 (74.6%) with a median compensation of $25,000 in the range of $4,000-175,000.
Other Guaranteed Compensation reported by 67 (11.9%) works out to $20,400 by way of median compensation in the range of $3,600-175,000. Relocation expenses reported by 381 (67.5%) had compensation median of $8600 in the range of $350-35,000.
Of the 850 students in the batch, 639 had sought full time employment. Of them, 628 (98.3%) had received job offers and 610 (95.5%) accepted the job offers.
As many as 146 of the students did not seek employment. Of them, 75 were company sponsored or returning to the company. While 50 were self employed/starting own business, 10 preferred to continue their education while 10 postponed job search. One stayed away due to personal reasons and 37 did not respond to the survey.
Financial Services with a median salary of $125,000 claimed 35.1% of the class followed by Consulting with a median salary of $145,000 taking 26.6% of the class. Investment Banking/Brokerage comes next with a median pay of 16.1% at $125,000.
The 859 member class comprises 60% male and 40% female. US students of colour constitute 30% and international 31%. In location choices, 86.9% were in the United States and 13.1% in international locations.
