A three-member team from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore has won the Yes Bank Transformation Series case contest.
The team comprising second-year students of the Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP) Divya Wadhawan, Farhan Ansari and Swapnil Katiyar, had successfully dealt with the challenge to ‘Promote Cross-Border E-Commerce for the Indian MSME Sector,’ to secure the first prize. It carries a cash component of Rs 5 lakh.
Divya, a business graduate from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (CBS), Delhi University, has work experience in Consulting and HR. She had interned with Bain & Co. Farhan, a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and Masters from IIT Delhi, has work experience in Supply Chain and Procurement. He had interned with Standard Chartered Bank.
The first runner-up was a team from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) and the second runner-up from Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay. They received Rs 3 lakh and Rs 2 lakh respectively.
Swapnil, a Computer Science graduate from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, has work experience as a Full Stack Software Developer. He had interned with HUL-IT Division.
The grand finale of the 7th edition of the Yes Bank Transformation Series, India’s largest case study competition for students from B-schools and tech institutes, was held in Mumbai on November 28.
For the finale, the bank had partnered with Invest India and the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency of the Union Government.

The top 15 teams had presented innovative solutions for Invest India on how to increase B2C exports from India; initiatives to promote India as a leader in MSME exports and how Indian MSMEs can further leverage global opportunities. The initiative had received more than 30,000 registrations from over 16,000 student teams across India.
The first runner-up was a team from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) and the second runner-up from Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay. They received Rs 3 lakh and Rs 2 lakh respectively.
The Yes Bank had partnered with 12 global leaders for the initial round of the Transformation Series to address India’s urban development challenges. They included innovators like Adobe, Cisco, Microsoft, Shell, United Nations Development Program and pioneers like Bigbasket, BookMyShow, Sports Interactive, Urban Ladder and T-Hub.
Congratulating the winning team, in a message to the IIMB Director Professor G Raghuram, Binoj Vasu, Senior President and Chief Learning Officer, YES BANK, said, “The sincere efforts and dedication shown by the IIMB students demonstrate the quality of education and the principles of your esteemed institution.
“Through such initiatives, we believe that we are in some small way contributing towards national development, as also providing unique opportunities to our student community,” he added.
