The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) offers a 2-year full-time MBA (International Business), a 6-trimester general management program that incorporates all the important areas and disciplines relevant to international business activities.
Registration for the academic session starting in 2019 began on August 6 with the last date for submitting the application forms on September 14. The IIFT has campuses in Delhi and Kolkata.
The applicants for the program in India have to appear for an entrance test to be held on December 2. The 2-hour-long multiple choice objective type will have 4 sections, namely, English Comprehension, General Knowledge & Awareness, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Analysis. Foreign nationals, Non-Resident Indians and their children will have to submit GMAT scores.
The Written Test is held Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Visakhapatnam.
While submitting the online IIFT Application Form, you will have to pay an application fee (Rs 1650 for the General category candidates and Rs 825 for SC/ST) through debit/credit card.
The Written Test is held Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Visakhapatnam.
Based on marks obtained in the written test, you will be called for Group Discussion and Interview to be held between the fourth week of January and the middle of February in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai.
Results of the written test will be announced in the first week of January 2019. The selection process will continue through January and February. The final list of selected candidates will be announced in the second week of April 2019.
Eligibility Criteria
You must possess a Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years’ duration in any discipline. Those in the final year of the undergraduate degree can also apply subject to submission of proof of requisite qualification by the beginning of October of the year of the start of the course. There is no age limit for the program.
Exam Pattern
The written test will have around 114 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Each question will have four options and you have to select the right answer. The marking scheme for each section would be different.
In the previous year, the Data Interpretation section had 20 questions with a total 15 marks. Logical Reasoning had 20 questions of one mark each. General Awareness had 18 questions carrying a total 9 marks. Verbal Ability has 20 questions with one mark each.
Reading Comprehension has 16 questions with one mark each. Quantitative Aptitude has 20 questions with one mark each. Overall, the total marks will be 100. There will also be negative marks for wrong answers with a certain percentage being deducted.
Class Profile
The program attracts participants from diverse professional and work areas. The Class of 2016-18 saw an increase in gender diversity with 28% female students.

Almost 70% of the students came in with prior work experience across sectors including BFSI, Automobile, Consulting, Systems, Consumer Durables, IT/Telecom, Manufacturing and trade.
As far as work experience is concerned, 40% had 0-11 months experience, 32% came with 12-23 months, 19% had put in 24-35 months and 9% more than 35 months.
In domain-wise work experience, 47% came from IT, 17% Operations/Supply Chain, 11% Finance, 10% Engineering/Manufacturing, 9% Analytics/Consulting and 7% S&M.
