Final placements at IMI (International Management Institute), New Delhi, for the 2014-16 class saw Banking, Financial services and Insurance (BFSI) sector companies in the lead for PGDM BFSI, PGDHRM and PGDM B & FS batches.
While 81% in PGDM B&FS (Banking & Financial Services) batch chose to take advantage of the surge in number of opportunities in the sector, the figures for the PGDM BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) was 39% followed by PGDHRM (Human Resource Management) at 37%.
As many as 96 companies had participated in the Final Placements to recruit from a batch of 243 graduates of whom 181 were in the PGDM program, 45 in PGDHRM program and 17 in the PGDM B&FS program.
The gender ratio of the batch was close to 3:2 with 59% male and 41% female. As far as previous work experience is concerned, around 40% had work experience of more than a year.
The class had an overwhelming 78% drawn from engineering followed by 8% with science background, 6% business administration and 5% commerce.
The highest pay packet offered in PGDM was Rs 29 lakh CTC per annum and average CTC was Rs 14.3 lakh per annum. In PGDHRM, the highest offer was Rs 18.6 lakh CTC per annum and average CTC at Rs 13.2 lakh per annum. The top offer in PGDM B&FS was Rs 16.3 CTC lakh per annum and average CTC of Rs 13.4 lakh per annum.
Keeping with the profile of the three streams, while the main recruiters were from the BFSI sector, IT/ITES, Consultancy, e-commerce and FMCG/FMCD/Retail/Pharmaceutical majors also turned up during the placements.
Prominent among recruiters in BFSI sector were ANZ, AXA, Axis Bank, Axis Risk Consulting, Bank of America, Barclays, Citibank, Darashaw, JP Morgan Chase & Co. and CRISIL.
Consulting sector majors included AT Kearney, Bain Capability Centre, Deloitte, EY, FutureStep, Genpact, IMRB, KPMG, PwC and Wipro.
About 13% of the companies visiting the campus were from e-commerce sector that included Droom, Grofers, RetailOn, Snapdeal, Shopclues and Tolexo.

FMCG/FMCD/Retail/Pharmaceutical majors including Asian Paints, Café Coffee Day Beverages, Dabur, Emami, Fedders Lloyd, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Jubilant, Mother Dairy, Piramal Group and RetailOn.
The placements also saw an increase in the number of startups, and companies from the media and other sectors for recruitments. These included DHL, Energy Infratech, Sony MSM and Zee Entertainment.
