Maintaining the Common (CAT) cut-off level for overall cut off at 90 percentile for general category candidates, the same as last year, IIMC has kept cut-offs for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Non-creamy Other Backward Castes (NC-OBC), and Persons with disabilities (PWD) is to 70, 70, 85, and 70 respectively.

In the second stage, the shortlisted candidates would be called for a Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).

The performance of the candidate at each stage would be taken into consideration along with assessment on past academic records, work experience, co-curricular activities and diversity factors, if applicable.

Each parameter is assigned a particular weightage on the basis of which the final merit list is prepared.

Applicants to be eligible to be considered for personal interview should have minimum section-wise and overall percentile in CAT 2016. The actual section-wise and overall percentile of a short-listed candidate may be much higher than the above mentioned minimum percentile as the short-listing for PI is done on the basis of a composite score.

The Composite Score is calculated on the basis of CAT 2016 score, Class X and Class XII aggregate percentages, and gender diversity factor.

The number of candidates short-listed for the PI stage would be the discretion of the institute and would depend on the batch size of 2017-19.

For work experience, a maximum of four points will be awarded depending on the length of service as on January 31, 2017. Only managerial work experience after graduation will be considered. Training/Project work/work done as an integral part of curricular requirement will not be considered.

The final selection list will be based on merit in each category. Minimum qualification on the above mentioned criteria would not automatically qualify the candidate for admission.

IIM Calcutta follows the Union Government’s reservation policy for admission to Central Educational Institutions (CEIs).

Academic eligibility For admission to PGP-PGDM is the candidate possessing  a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA  (45% in case of the candidates belonging to SC/ST/ and Persons with Disability (PWD) categories), awarded by any of the recognised Universities or other educational institutions declared to be deemed as a University.

The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case a candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where bachelor’s degree has been obtained.
