Final Placement for the Class of 2018 at IIM Kozhikode saw graduates getting an average salary of Rs 17.76 lakh per annum (LPA), a marginal increase over the previous year with the highest international salary at Rs 52 LPA.
During the Final Placement 2017, the average salary had stood at Rs 17.65 LPA with the highest salary offer pegged at Rs 37 LPA. The number of recruiters was 110 who came up with 356 offers.
This year, out of 382 students in the graduating batch, 367 secured as many as 384 offers from major recruiters including Arthur D. Little, BCG, Deloitte, EY, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, McKinsey and PwC. While 11 students opted out of the placements process, 4 students failed to get placed, IIM-K said in a press release.
The season witnessed an increase in the number of key roles in the Finance sector from major companies including American Express, Axis Bank, Bank of America, Citibank, Fidelity, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JP Morgan Chase, and Standard Chartered being offered to 16% of the candidates.
The number of companies participating in the placement process went up to 178, a whopping 58% increase from the 2017 placements season. More than 75 first time recruiters such as Arthur D. Little, Avendus Capital, Axis Securities, Bharat Forge, Britannia, Casio, Crompton Greaves, GMR Group, Madhura Coats, Optum – UHG, Reckitt Benckiser, RBL Bank, Shapoorji Pallonji Group, Standard Chartered-IGP, Think & Learn, Ujjivan and Value Labs participated in the placements process.
Diverse roles were offered to 26% of the students in the Consulting domain by the Boston Consulting Group, Cedar Consulting, Cognizant Business Consulting, Deloitte, EY, IMC, KPMG and PwC, to name a few.
Next came Sales and Marketing role offers to 25% from major brands including 3M, Asian Paints, Bharat Petroleum, Godrej, GSK, HUL, Indian Oil, ITC, Kohler, Pidilite, and Vodafone.
The season witnessed an increase in the number of key roles in the Finance sector from major companies including American Express, Axis Bank, Bank of America, Citibank, Fidelity, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JP Morgan Chase, and Standard Chartered being offered to 16% of the candidates.
General Management had offers from Aditya Birla Group, Airtel, Bosch, Mahindra Group, Reliance Industries, RPG Group, Tata Administrative Services, Tata Communications. Operations had several well-known recruiters such as Amazon, Asian Paints, Cipla and Shel.
Aspect Ratio, Capgemini, Citi, EXL Services, HCL, Microland, Microsoft, Sapient Razorfish, TCS, Tech Mahindra and Wipro recruited from the campus for IT and Analytics role.

IIM Kozhikode has yet again kept up to its standards of academic excellence and its vision of globalizing Indian thought. The Placements team was continuing its support to the four unplaced students to find roles that suit their aspirations. “The role of IIM Kozhikode alumni is exemplary in furthering good industry relations. We can state that we have been successful in ensuring that major brands visit our campus. IIM Kozhikode continues to move further in the path of excellence,” the release added.
