The Class of 2017 at IIM Nagpur managed to secure an average salary offer of Rs 13.05 LPA and median offer Rs 12 LPA respectively with a minimum offer of Rs 9 LPA during the ongoing Final Placements.
The median for the top and the next quartile for the placed students currently stands at Rs19.5 LPA and Rs13 LPA, IIM Nagpur said releasing the interim Final Placement Report for the first batch of Post Graduate Program (PGP) 2015-17 batch, IIM Nagpur started functioning from 2015 under the guidance and mentorship of IIM Ahmedabad.
While 27 students of the 53-member batch have found placement till May 4, 2017, Two students had chosen to go in for Fellowship and one had opted out of the placement process. The placement process was continuing and the final report will be released on its completion, the IIM said.
Excluding international offers, the average and median figures for the placed students are Rs12.06 LPA and Rs12 LPA respectively. The median for the top and the next quartile for students placed domestically are Rs15.23 LPA and Rs13 LPA.
The placement process started with a positive response from two companies who offered pre-placement offers to students who performed exceptionally at the respective organisations during their Summer Internship in 2016. Two students have been offered a Fellowship Program by Tata Trusts to contribute to the Social Sector. Apart from the four students who received PPOs and fellowships, another 25 students have accepted offers in the Final Placement process till now.
The 27 accepted offers (including two PPOs) are from reputed companies from a variety of sectors. The major recruiters are Bajaj Allianz, Bharat Petroleum, Choice India, Delivering Change Foundation, Futures First, GroupM, ICICI Lombard, Jajoo Glass, Jumbo Group, Larsen & Toubro, Tech Mahindra, Tega Industries, TresVista, Vishvaraj Infrastructure, Wipro Technologies and YES Bank.
The companies have offered challenging roles in various industry verticals including Consulting, Marketing, Analytics, Finance, Operations and Strategy.

The offers are spread across various industries. BFSI has 30% followed by Infrastructure 19%, IT/ITeS 11%, Manufacturing 7%, Public Sector 7%, Media and Advertising 7%, Retail 11%, Consulting 4%, and Not-for-Profit Organization 4%.

In functional role-wise placement, Marketing accounted for 48%, followed by Consulting and Operations at 15% each, Strategy 11%, Finance 7% and Data Analytics 4%.
