Final placements for Indian Institute of Management-Ranchi (IIM-R)’s flagship postgraduate diploma in management (PGDM) 2014-16 batch saw 100% of the graduates bagging offers with the highest domestic package of 25.5 lakh and a Rs 55 lakh per annum foreign placement offer from an FMCG company.

Soumya Sarkar, head of the placement cell at IIM-R said the current placement has recorded an overall 13% improvement over the 2013-15 academic session.

The highlight of the placement was the Rs 55 lakh placement offer received by female student Amisha Chawla for a post in an FMCG firm in Africa. Incidentally, the class had a healthy gender ratio of 42% female and 58% male.

While the overall average annual package size was Rs 15.14 lakh, the highest domestic package was Rs 25.5 lakh. Among the 69 companies that turned up at the placements were Google, Make My Trip, RPG Group, Accenture, Deloitte and e-commerce companies like Ola. As many as 35 firms, including Google, with 35 of them (including Google) coming for the first time. Seven of the newcomers were e-commerce sites and five start-ups.

IIM Ranchi, the ninth Indian Institute of Management, set up in 2010, currently offers in addition to its flagship 2-year PGDM in General Management, a full-time two year programme in Human Resources Management (PGDHRM). It also offers Fellow Program in Management (FPM), a fellowship programme funded by the government and an 18-month part time Diploma in Management (PGEXP). A certified Barefoot Manger program has also been introduced to promote entrepreneurship and to impart livelihood skills among the school drop outs and illiterates.
