Summer placements at IIM Trichy for a batch of 102 students recorded a 71% increase in highest stipend to Rs 2.4 lakh for a two-month internship.
The highest domestic stipend offered was Rs 1.6 lakh. Average stipend stood at Rs 51,000, an increase of 13.3% over the previous year.
Internship offers also came from Europe and the Middle-East.

The number of firms that participated in the summer placements went up slightly to 51 from last year’s 45. Offers came from a wide spectrum including BFSI, Consulting, FMCG, IT/ITeS, Manufacturing, E-commerce, Media & Advertising and NGOs.
The students were offered niche roles in product development, operations and strategic transaction group – investment banking.
Recruiters included World Bank, Dabur, HSBC, OgilvyOne, Deloitte, Mahindra, Cognizant Business Consulting, ICICI Bank, Saint Gobain Glass, TAFE, Robert Bosch, L&T, YES Bank, Fidelity, RBS, TVS Motors, L&T, RBL, Shoppers Stop and Bajaj Allianz.

The average two-month stipend offered to the top 10 percentile of the batch was Rs 1.4 lakh; the top 25 percentile had Rs 1.13 lakh and the top 50 percentile got Rs 84,400.
Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (IIMT) is the eleventh IIM instituted on January 4, 2011 by then Minister for HRD and Telecommunication Kapil Sibal, under the stewardship of IIM-B.
In May 2015, IIM-T announced 100% placements for 103 students in the 2013-15 batch who registered for placements with marginally higher average salaries than the previous year.
Though the highest salary offered at Rs 19.50 lakhs was only marginally up from the previous year’s Rs 19.25 lakh, the number of offers at the higher band was more. At the lower end, the minimum salary package witnessed a 20% increase and ended at Rs 7.5 lakh. The median annual compensation levels continued to be around Rs 11 lakh.
