Registration for NMAT by GMAC exam had gone up by 17% to close at 82,928 in 2016 compared to 70,950 in the previous year, according to the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), owner and administrator of the test.
The rise in the number of candidates was attributed to the addition of 5 new test centres and 3 institutions, the Xavier University, Bhubaneswar; MISB Bocconi and Shiv Nadar University. Several new features to facilitate a hassle free registration process were introduced in 2016 including single sign-on and choice of 12 mobile wallet options for easy payment.
The candidate will be notified on email once the score card is available. It can be downloaded by logging into NMAT by GMAC account. The final percentile rankings for this year will be calculated after all the candidates have taken their exam. It will be announced and updated in your score card on January 17.
The Final score card includes a scaled score for each section, a total score as well as a percentile ranking. Scores will be available in the following range for each section: Quantitative skills 0-144: Language skills 0-96; Logical Reasoning skills 0-120; Total 0-360.
In scaled scores, all the test forms are equated to account for any differences in overall difficulty and the raw test scores are placed on a common scale. The process of score scaling ensures that scores are comparable across test forms to ensure that the scores are not impacted by different candidates getting different test forms.
The Final Percentiles for each year are calculated at the end of the year after all candidates have completed the exam. The candidate’s score card and the score card that is sent to schools will be updated with the final percentiles on January 17.
