Registration Opens for NMAT by GMAC 2017

The registration for NMAT by GMAC, a computer-based objective type multiple-choice exam, accepted by management institutes in India for admission, will remain open from July 4 to October 3, 2017, according to an announcement by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).

The candidates will now be able to register for the exam at nmat.org.in. Two new features have been introduced for their convenience in the form of ‘multiple login methods’ and ‘additional payment options.’ The exam window will be from October 5 to December 18.

The multiple logins allow candidates to register through Google, Facebook etc. They will be able to use the auto-generated One Time Password (OTP) and even last year’s credentials for the purpose. Candidates could also register for the exam using their mobile phones.

The exam allows a candidate to choose the order in which he/she would like to respond to each of the sections on the test and self-schedule the test date, time and location based on the availability of seats at each test centre.

GMAC Regional Director (South Asia) Gaurav Srivastava said that for the first time, the exam will be held at four international locations in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka. He also noted that the exam has recorded steady growth in registrations over a period of time. Last year, it recorded a 17 % growth in registration numbers. This year, 20 new test centres have been launched in India.

While the registration is from July 4 to October 3, scheduling is from July 4 to October 16. Late registration will be from October 4-14. Registration for retake will be from October 6-14. Rescheduling will be from July 4 to December 15. Retake scheduling will be from October 6-December 15. Exam delivery will be from October 5 to December 18.

The test registration fees (early) will be Rs 1800 plus applicable taxes. For late registration, it will be Rs 2000 plus taxes. For retake, the charges will be Rs 1800 plus taxes and Rs 1000 plus taxes for rescheduling. Additional Score Reports (beyond the first five) will be Rs 200 plus additional taxes per score report. Payment is accepted through credit card, debit card, net banking and mobile wallets.

The test comprises three sections – Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning. All the sections are individually timed with a total time of 120 minutes. Candidates will be able to appear for the exam at 55 test centres in 35 cities in India.

Candidates are also allowed to appear for NMAT by GMAC three times in a year’s testing period. They could also reschedule their exam by visiting the official website over a 75 day testing period.

Last year, the registrations closed at 82,928, up from 70,950 in 2015. The NMAT by GMAC exam is accepted by the following institutes: SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Xavier School of Human Resource Management, Bhubaneswar, Xavier School of Rural Management – Bhubaneswar, Xavier School of Sustainability – Bhubaneswar, Xavier Faculty of Management (Urban Management & Governance) – Bhubaneswar, MISB Bocconi, ICFAI Business School (IBS), Hyderabad and other locations, Shiv Nadar University, Alliance University, VIT University, Amity University, Thapar School of Management, Woxsen School of Business Management, University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES), GITAM School of International Business, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad Business School, GITAM University, SRM University, BML Munjal University and Mody University.
