Symbiosis National Aptitude Test, also known as SNAP, is held every year by Symbiosis International University (SIU) for MBA admissions to 13 institutes during December with the results being announced in January, the entire admission process being over by the second week of March.
SNAP is a 2-hour-long objective type paper and pen test. Unlike the PGDM diplomas offered by the IIMs and several private Business Schools, the Pune-based SIU says it grants MBA degrees at the end of a two-year course.
Eligibility For SNAP
Graduates in any discipline with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) are eligible to apply and appear for the admission test. Courses that require specific discipline/ subject specialisation need to be checked for eligibility as given by the respective Institute. A candidate who has completed qualifying degree from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
The registration process is conducted online at the website www.snaptest.org. The registration fee for SNAP 2015 is Rs. 1,500. The registration for SNAP 2015 started in the first week of September and will continue till late November.
This year, the test will be held on December 20. Candidates are to use only blue or black ball point pen for the test. Each question has four responses and the candidate will have to choose the most appropriate response. A penalty of 25% marks will be imposed for each wrong answer.
The test comprises General English: Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability (40 marks); Quantitative Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency (40 marks); General Awareness: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Business Scenario (40 marks); Analytical & logical reasoning (60 marks) with total 180 marks.
The test will be in 4 sections with allocation of marks indicated against each section. The results will be declared in second week of January 2016 followed by short-listing of candidates for personal interaction (PI) and Writing ability test (WAT).
