MBA Need Not Be Expensive, Go the FMS Way

Want to do a two-year full time MBA at a fraction of the cost you would incur at any of the IIMs or private business schools? Look no further than the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) at the University of Delhi.

FMS has kick started the admission process for its MBA 2017-19 from November 1. The last date for registration for admissions will be November 30.

Candidates can register for admission to two year full time MBA and Ph.D. programmes through FMS website www.fms.edu by filling up online registration form and by paying the requisite fee of Rs.1000 (Rs.350 for SC/ST/PWD category) for each program.

Admission to MBA program will be based on Extempore Speech, Personal Interview and CAT 2016 score (Common Admission Test conducted by Indian Institutes of Management on December, 4, 2016). Applicants who have not taken CAT 2016 will not be considered for admission.

Admission to Ph.D. programme will be based on academic performance, essay writing and personal interview of the eligible candidates as per the Eligibility Criteria.

A candidate is allowed to apply for one or more programs. Incomplete forms will not be entertained. FMS will not entertain any chargeback cases of online payment. Those applying for the reserved category seats (SC/ST/OBC/PWD/CW) need to send self-attested photocopy of their applicable category certificates.

All candidates are required to send the computer generated Application Acknowledgement Form, after online registration, along with the supporting documents to FMS latest by December 16, 2016.

You need to score around 98.54 percentile in CAT 2016. Neither FMS nor Delhi University would be conducting any other separate tests.  Admission of foreign candidates will be based on GMAT or TOEFL scores.

The candidates applying for admission to the two year Full-Time MBA must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks or equivalent to CGPA, as per CAT 2016 requirement.

The school has 216 seats for its MBA programme and 15 seats for PhD. Among the top ranked business schools in India, the total fees at FMS amounts to Rs 20,960 that includes Admission and tuition fees. Hostel Fees and other fees are not included.

The program is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and FMS is an autonomous institute.

In campus placement, according to information provided by the institute, graduates were able to net an Average Salary of Rs 20.05 Lakh and a maximum salary of Rs 66 Lakh 1n 2016, a sharp increase over the previous year.

Top recruiters included EY Consulting with 13 offers, Accenture Strategy with 9 offers, Star India with 8, ITC and M.H. Alshaya with 7 offers each. Almost 37% of the batch found posts in Consulting & General Management.
